Hardness
Skateboard wheels are usually made of polyurethane as the main material. The proportion of polyurethane in the wheel is different, and the hardness of the wheel is also different. Wheels with a hardness of 85A (A refers to hardness) are relatively soft, suitable for sliding on rough roads, and the sound is very small when sliding, which is a good choice for friends who like to pedal shopping.

But the 85A wheels, because they are soft, are relatively non-wearing, and it is easy to break the spacer layer when doing actions like sideslip brakes. Generally, skaters use 97A-103A wheels.
This kind of hardness wheels are not only suitable for smooth marble and relatively flat roads, but also suitable for U pools, diving platforms and other props. There is no sound on smooth and flat areas such as 85A wheels. It is not recommended to use 103A for transparent or translucent wheels. If it is too hard, it will burst. It is best to use it only on props made of WOOD materials.

Diameter
38-40mm wheels are used by fewer people, and the wheels start and accelerate quickly, but have low stamina and are suitable for very flat roads. Wheels of 45mm-50mm are the most suitable wheels for road type. 52-60mm wheels are more suitable for use on props. Because the action on the props requires strong motivation, the lighter the board is the better for the leveling action, and the weight of the board on the props can sometimes bring greater inertia and impact, allowing you to soar higher and farther. In the wild, off-road wheels above 60mm are more suitable. Professional mountain skateboards use big rubber wheels.

Rebound
The rebound of the wheels is very important. Although there are no parameters to refer to. However, the stronger the rebound, the stronger the ability to overcome obstacles. If you don’t know how well your wheels rebound, you can do a little experiment. Remove the bearing from the wheel, you throw the wheel to the ground forcefully, the high wheel will bounce to the ceiling, and the bottom bouncing wheel will only flop against the ground twice. On smooth ground, maybe the two kinds of wheels can run as fast, but when encountering rough road conditions, the superiority of the high rebound wheel can be immediately shown.
